‘I am a Registered Nurse with many years of experience working in primary care and the community setting. I have held PCT Board position as nurse representative and in PCT substantive roles led the implementation of the nGMC contract and was QOF lead. I introduced the GP appraisal system in the Tendring area and I have supported GPs and practices locally to achieve  training status. My current substantive role is Assistant Director of Operations within Anglian Community Enterprise (ACE); a Social Enterprise delivering primary and community care within North East Essex and I am responsible for the management of 3 APMS practices, 2 Community Hospitals and a number of communitybased services including community nurses and matrons. I am the Registered Officer for ACE for the Care Quality Commission and led the implementation of the new CQC Standards of Quality and Safety for the organisation.  I have the Post Graduated Certificate in Medical Education in addition to MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice. I am happy to work with GPs and the primary care MDT to meet any training needs.’

 Dr Cyrus Fernandes - West Essex CCG
Cyrus qualified from Barts & the Royal London in 2001. He completed his GPVTS in Harlow in 2005. He became a full time principal at the Lister Medical Centre in Harlow in 2007. His clinical interests include Paediatrics, and he has a keen interest in education and training.
From November 2005 to August 2008, he was appointed honorary clinical lecturer at Barts and the Royal London Medical School where he developed a special study module (SSM) in learning and teaching.  During this time he also completed his post graduate certificate in learning and teaching (CILT).
In 2008 he was appointed by the RCGP to be the curriculum guardian for paediatrics, and has overseen the changes to the general practice curriculum in paediatrics and child health since his appointment. 

He has been a GP tutor in Harlow since 2008. He facilitates the weekly post-graduate teaching programme in Harlow, and is also a GP trainer.
