Hedingham Medical Centre are looking to recruit a Senior Administrator to join our rural practice in Castle Hedingham, Essex. We are rated good by CQC and have a practice population of 9400 patients and dispense over our two active sites in Castle and Sible Hedingham.
It is important to know that GP practices are busy demanding work environments. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, well-motivated individual with strong leadership skills to fit into our friendly team. They will need to be computer literate and demonstrate excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills, together with the ability to work well under pressure and able to deal with patients with sensitivity in what can sometimes be difficult circumstances.
Knowledge and experience of working in a primary care environment using SystmOne would be an advantage.
The position is for 30 hours per week, you will need to be flexible to work additional sessions when necessary to ensure the admin team is always fully staffed.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Leadership of a busy multi-skilled department.
- Ensure adequate staffing levels, approve annual and other leave in line with agreed policy and ensure that there is always Admin cover.
- Induction and training of all new admin staff to Practice policies and standards.
- General supervision of office and making sure communications are dealt with promptly in the most prompt, cost effective, efficient manner and observing protocols.
- Manage team processing all clinical and administration tasks, carrying out tasks as appropriate
- Oversee and contribute to all clinical document processing workflow and coding.
- To maintain filing and administrative systems so that written or computer information is easily accessible and secure
- Manage Patient registrations and deductions
- Action Clinical Referrals including urgent requests which may need to be actioned beyond contacted working hours.
- To receive incoming and initiate outgoing telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others, taking messages and dealing with appropriate queries.
- Follow practice protocols to ensure consistent and high-quality care is provided to our patients.
We offer 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata), salary dependent on experience, NHS pension.
