Practice Overview
Burnham Surgery is a well-established, patient-focused GP practice committed to delivering high-quality primary care to the local community in Essex. We work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide accessible, safe, and effective healthcare services.
Role Purpose
To provide high-quality, patient-centered medical care to the registered population of Burnham Surgery, managing a varied caseload and supporting continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and online)
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
- Prescribe medications and review treatments
- Manage long-term conditions (e.g. diabetes, COPD, hypertension)
- Undertake home visits where appropriate
- Refer patients to secondary care where required
- Maintain accurate clinical records
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
- Participate in clinical meetings
- Support safeguarding responsibilities
- Contribute to QOF and quality improvement initiatives
- Adhere to CQC and NHS standards

- IT proficiency (EMIS/SystmOne)
- Commitment to CPD
Qualifications and Experience
- MBBS or equivalent
- Full GMC registration and license to practice
- Inclusion on the GP Register
- Primary care experience (desirable)
- Evidence of CPD
Working Pattern
- Flexible sessions and hours to be agreed, including a mix of clinical and administrative duties.
