Booking Your Courses

The Mid and South Essex (MSE) Training Hub is pleased to confirm that following a recent Training Needs Analysis exercise, the below courses have been commissioned

Who is eligible?

The courses are ringfenced for Healthcare Assistants and Assistant Practitioners employed within the Mid and South Essex Primary Care footprint.

Please note Agency or Locum staff are not eligible for this training.

Each eligible delegate may book onto one course and should ensure that authorisation to attend from your line manager is received.

How to Book

To book one of these events you will need an EQUIP online account   If you have not already set one up, it is a free and simple process. If you already have an EQUIP online account, ensure this is current and states which Practice you are currently employed by.

To set up an EQUIP account please register here.  Upon set up return to this page link, ‘add to cart’  your chosen course and check out.

Please note:  These courses are not accessible from the public Essex EQUIP events page so you will need to come back to this private page to search for each course prior to booking.

When your booking is complete it will be held as ‘pending’ until it has undergone a straightforward authorisation process by the MSE Training Hub.  Once the booking has been authorised, you will receive a booking confirmation email and the ticket for your course will appear in your account as confirmed.

Terms and Conditions

  • All bookings will be subject to authorisation by the MSE Training Hub
  • One course may be booked by each eligible candidate
  • Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours prior to the course date(s).  Cancellations made less than 48 hours of the course date(s) may exclude the candidate from any future training for 12 months (regardless of which financial year the cancellation took place)
  • Non-attendance of a training course may exclude the candidate from any future training for 12 months (regardless of which financial year the non-attendance took place)

Event details

This course is designed for HCAs who are new to wound care.  The course aims to enable HCAs in general practice to obtain the knowledge and skills they need to perform wound care and remove sutures/staples.

Event details

HCAs provide a valuable service in primary care, supporting nurse and GP colleagues to ensure that people living with long-term conditions have the information they need, in order to achieve the best outcomes.  These 2 half day sessions address the ‘need to know’ elements for a range of areas covered by health care assistants at all levels.  There will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions in safe and confidential environment.

This half day course is for HCAs who would like to understand more about blood tests and their results.

Course content:

  • The uses of blood tests.
  • Types of blood tests.
  • What blood test results can indicate.
  • Giving results to patients.

Event details

This CPD accredited course is designed to enable HCAs in general practice to obtain the knowledge and skills they need to administer flu, pneumonia and shingles vaccines to adults, nasal flu to children and B12 injections to adults

The course consists of 2 face to face study days, followed by a period of supervised practice with a nurse mentor.

This half day course is designed to enable HCAs in general practice to update their knowledge and skills in administering pneumonia and shingles vaccines to adults and nasal flu to children.
