An opportunity has arisen within our rural GP Practice, and we are actively recruiting a Clinical Administrator to join our busy, forward-thinking and supportive team.

We are a medium sized training practice have practice population of approximately 8,300 with a 98% dispensing rate, working from our purpose-built rural practice rated Outstanding by the CQC and given a 97% overall satisfaction rate by our patients in the 2025 National GP Survey.

With the NHS embracing the digitally age you must have excellent IT skills, be able to use MS Windows and all its associated software. Knowledge and experience of working in a primary care environment using SystmOne or other clinical system would be an advantage, but not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate.

Working approximately 18 – 25hrs per week during our core opening times of 08:00 – 18:30 Monday to Friday, you will need to have the flexibility to cover absence due to holidays and sickness when required.

Your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

  • Communicating with patients, hospitals and other services by telephone and email
  • Processing Subject Access Requests timely
  • Completing other Non-NHS fee paying work in line with Practice guidelines
  • Maintaining and updating patient records accurately on SystmOne, including scanning, coding, documentation, and correspondence
  • Processing electronic tasks, pathology results, clinical letters, and workflow items in SystmOne
  • Handling incoming and outgoing correspondence via post, email, and telephone
  • Processing new patient registrations, deductions, and changes in patient details
  • Scanning, code and file clinical documents in accordance with practice protocol
  • Working collaboratively with reception, clinical, and management teams.
  • Complying with all practice policies, including those relating to GDPR, safeguarding, SOPS and health & safety
  • Participating in staff training, meetings, and personal development reviews

Successful interview candidates must be aware that we require you to undertake a inhouse basic IT test to assess your level of competence.

Due to our rural location you will need access to a vehicle as there is no regular or reliable public transport.
