The New Folly Surgery is currently looking to recruit an experienced Clinical Pharmacist for a maternity locum from mid-April 2026 until April 2027. This will be a fixed term contract for 3 days a week – two days in surgery and one day working from home.
The post holder will monitor long term conditions, managing the medication and liaising with GP’s to ensure the monitoring of patient medication. They will need to have specialist experience in the management of long term conditions asthma, COPD and diabetes in particular. There will also be responsibility for document management, discharge summaries and medicine reconciliations as well as other clinical document management letters. They will also need to manage medication reviews and DMARD protocol.
The post holder will hold a Masters degree in pharmacy (MPharm) or equivalent, be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, including primary care and at least one other field of pharmacy (community or hospital).
The post holder will be required to have an awareness of the breadth of common acute and long-term health conditions and be able to demonstrate general pharmaceutical skills and knowledge in core areas. The post holder will have experience of planning, managing, monitoring, and advising patients on general pharmaceutical areas and assisting patients with medication reviews.
The post holder must have demonstrable experience of working within a Pharmaceutical environment. The post holder must have experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team and liaising with all members of the practice clinical and non-clinical staff for the collective benefit of the patients.
The post holder must have strong communication skills, both verbal and in writing and have a strong understanding of the importance of confidentiality.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
