Document Management Assistant

FIXED TERM MATERNITY COVER FROM October 2026

A unique opportunity has arisen to join our team for to cover maternity leave and we are actively recruiting a Document Management Assistant to contribute with the continuation of the excellent patient care we are known for.

With the NHS embracing the digital age you must have excellent IT skills and the ability to meet the needs of a changing digital office environment is key. Although knowledge and experience of working in a primary care environment using SystmOne or other clinical system would be useful, it is not essential as full training will be given to the right candidate.

If you are organised, adaptable, have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail, a keen enquiring mind and enjoy working in a fast-paced, supportive team environment then this is the job for you.

In return we are offering a fixed term contract of 9 months with a possible extension to 12 months for maternity cover. Working 18 – 20hrs per week, there will be the possibility of an extension to this contract on an agreed on a month-by-month basis. Remuneration is £12.71 per hour, 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro rata), NHS pension contributions and ongoing job training. Candidates will be offered an inhouse IT test prior to interview.

Freshwell Health Centre is a medium sized dispensing and training practice with a cohort of approximately 8,400 patients. Working from our purpose-built rural practice rated Outstanding by the CQC and given a 91% overall satisfaction rate by our patients in the 2025/26 National GP Survey. Due to our rural location your own transport is essential as local public transport is unreliable.
