A course for nurses who want to undertake the management of cardiovascular disease in primary care.
The course is accredited by the CPD Certification Service and consists of three study days covering the primary care management of coronary heart disease, hypertension, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. The course will also cover assessment of the cardiac patient, cardiac medication and end of life care.
Learning outcomes:
- Understand the pathophysiology of CVD.
- Be able to assess patients with CVD and develop an appropriate plan of care.
- Understand the evidence-based pharmacological management of CVD.
- Be able to make changes in own practice regarding the management of CVD
Students are required to complete written work that demonstrates that they have met the learning outcomes of the course.
