A three day course for nurses, physicians associate and paramedics working in general practice who want to undertake the management of respiratory disease in primary care.

The course is accredited by the CPD Standards Office and consists of three study days covering the primary care management of respiratory disease (asthma and COPD).

The course will cover the diagnosis, assessment and management of the respiratory patient.  It will also include we can manage these patients during the Covid pandemic.

Learning outcomes:

  • Understand the pathophysiology of respiratory disease.
  • Be able to assess patients with asthma and COPD and develop an appropriate plan of care.
  • Understand the evidence-based pharmacological management of asthma and COPD.
  • Be able to make changes in own practice regarding the management of asthma and COPD

Students are required to complete a piece of written work that demonstrates that they have met the learning outcomes of the course.
