The aim of this three day course is to provide nurses, clinical pharmacists and paramedics working in general practice with knowledge and skills in the assessment and management of minor illness in primary care.
Course content:
- Minor illness for non-doctors
- Tips on clinical examination
- Sore throat, earache, cough and conjunctivitis
- Headache and dizziness
- Urine infections, diarrhoea and vomiting, vaginal discharge and back pain
- Skin rashes and mouth problems
- Analgesics and antibiotics
- Infections, sepsis, and fever
- Communication and change management
Students will be provided with access to a pre-course e-learning module which explains the relevant examination techniques and they will be given a minor illness manual.
