Introduction
This one day event, facilitated by Jill Warn and representatives from the Practice Manager Association (PMA) has been specifically designed to enable practice managers to get an insight into a programme of funded training events that will available to empower and up skill managers across the 5 CCG areas.
The morning session will give an overview of training courses available including a brief summary of the ILM Diplomas (levels 3 and 5) in Leadership and Management. Delegates who are interested in a more in depth understanding of these courses will have the opportunity to hear more about them after the lunch break.
A sample of the educational training topics that will be discussed in the morning are:
- Leadership Development
- Coaching and Mentoring
- Peer Appraisals
The afternoon session will be focused on giving delegates who would potentially like to take up either the PMA GP Assistant Practice Manager – ILM Level 3 Diploma in Leadership & Management or the PMA GP Practice Manager – ILM Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management. Delegates will gain an insight into the courses at both levels enabling them to determine whether they are appropriate for them or a member of their staff.
It will include an understanding of what each course entails, the commitment students need to give in order to achieve the qualification, and what the outcomes will be for the individual and the practice.
PMA Tutor/Assessors will be available on the day to offer advice and guidance.
