Mill Road Surgery has a practice list size of over 17,000 patients. We have regularly been voted top in the NHS Patient Survey for GP Surgeries in Colchester. We are currently looking for an Admin Manager.

The Admin Manager’s primary responsibility will be to ensure the seamless operation of all administrative processes within the practice. This includes overseeing a team with various responsibilities, including, but not limited to:

  • Registrations & GP Links
  • Referral managemen
  • Clinical correspondence management
  • Managing non-NHS work such as medical reports
  • Medical record management
  • Clinical coding & note summarising

The successful candidate will actively support, mentor, train and develop their team members. It is expected that the Admin Manager will regularly check in with the team, provide 1-to-1s, and support them as their direct report.

The successful candidate will report directly to the Practice Manager, and will work with the management & coordination team on the following:

  • QOF & Enhanced Service
  •  Complaints managemen
  •  Internal IT support (troubleshooting PC, printer, smartcard issues)
  • Performing searches/reports, build/modify protocols on SystmOne

Qualifications should include:

Essential

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Mathematics
  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent

Experience should include:

Essential

  • Experience of managing a team
  • Experience of working within Primary Care and with the general public
  • Experience of undertaking administrative duties
  • Experience of working in a health care setting

Desirable

  • Experience of working in a GP surgery

Hours per week: 30

Working days: 4 -5 days per week, working days TBA
