Practice Overview

Burnham Surgery is a well-established, patient-focused GP practice committed to delivering high-quality primary care to the local community in Essex. We work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide accessible, safe, and effective healthcare services.

Role Purpose

To provide high-quality, patient-centered medical care to the registered population of Burnham Surgery, managing a varied caseload and supporting continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver consultations (face-to-face, telephone, and online)
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Prescribe medications and review treatments
  • Manage long-term conditions (e.g. diabetes, COPD, hypertension)
  • Undertake home visits where appropriate
  • Refer patients to secondary care where required
  • Maintain accurate clinical records
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team
  • Participate in clinical meetings
  • Support safeguarding responsibilities
  • Contribute to QOF and quality improvement initiatives
  • Adhere to CQC and NHS standards

  • IT proficiency (EMIS/SystmOne)
  • Commitment to CPD

Qualifications and Experience

  • MBBS or equivalent
  • Full GMC registration and license to practice
  • Inclusion on the GP Register
  • Primary care experience (desirable)
  • Evidence of CPD

Working Pattern

  • Flexible sessions and hours to be agreed, including a mix of clinical and administrative duties.
