An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and enthusiastic Practice Nurse to join our friendly and expanding Practice team to provide a range of high quality general nursing services and specialist nursing advice and care to patients.

Main duties and responsibilities include:

  • Working autonomously
  • Chronic disease management
  • Wound management including dressings
  • Child and adult immunisations
  • Travel vaccinations
  • Screening
  • Health promotion
  • Ear care
  • Emergency management anaphylaxis and resuscitation techniques
  • Child health/child protection
  • Performing ECGs
  • Venepuncture and requesting pathology testing
  • Infection control
  • Telephone triage
  • Chaperoning and assisting patients and tidiness of nurses rooms
  • Ordering of supplies as necessary
  • Effectively and appropriately communicate with the multi-disciplinary team regarding the care of individual patient
  • Attend and participate in clinical and practice meetings when required
  • Proactive in identifying own needs for personal and professional development
  • Aware of the responsibility of all employees to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients staff and visitors
  • Ensure all duties are carried out to the highest possible standard and in accordance with any current quality initiatives
  • Provide patient care in accordance with current PGDs and clinical protocols
  • Any other duties as required

Qualifications – Essential

Qualified RGN/RN
NMC registered

Qualifications – Desirable

Chronic disease management
Trained in COPD and Asthma
