Practice Nurse

Mill Road Surgery is a SystmOne GP practice with over 18,000 patients in the North of Colchester. We are actively looking for experienced, enthusiastic, dynamic and self-motivated NMC registered Practice Nurses to join our team. We are a forward thinking, friendly surgery who support their staff and encourage on-going training and development of their team.

Candidates will ideally be working as experienced respiratory and/or diabetic nurses within primary care.

Respiratory trained nurses should be able to complete asthma and COPD reviews and ideally with experience of using spirometry and/or FeNO.

Diabetes trained nurses should have experience of conducting regular diabetic reviews including medication management and patient support/education.

However training will be available to the right candidates if required.

We are a hard working and dynamic team so would expect the post holder to also complete other duties (if suitably trained) which may include:

• Wound dressings
•  Vaccinations and childhood immunisations
• IM and SC injections
• Travel advice and vaccinations
• Cytology
• Smoking and vaping cessation
• Assisting GP procedures
• Phlebotomy
• Contraception reviews and advice

Training and development is integral to our team dynamic so opportunities to complete relevant courses and support staff development are available.

Hours and days of work would be discussed at interview stage and can be negotiable for suitable candidates with both full and part time options available.
