Colne Valley PCN is seeking a motivated and committed Salaried GP to join our multidisciplinary team. This is a fixed-term, two-year position for 6 sessions per week, based at The Pump House Surgery, Earls Colne.
The successful candidate will be employed by the PCN and work within a supportive, forward-thinking practice environment. You will collaborate closely with experienced clinical teams and work under the supervision of GP Partners within your host surgery. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while developing professionally within an innovative Primary Care Network.
Key Responsibilities include:
The role includes all duties expected of a GP working in Primary Care, including:
- Conducting face-to-face and telephone consultations
- Managing patient queries, home visits, and clinical correspondence
- Reviewing and signing repeat prescriptions
- Participating in online clinical triage where applicable
- Making autonomous, professional clinical decisions
- Assessing patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed conditions
- Risk factors and early signs of illness
- Developing and implementing patient-centred care plans
- Delivering health promotion and education
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical records
- Supporting audit processes and complying with QOF requirements
- Delivering enhanced services
- Issuing acute and repeat prescriptions electronically
- Working within professional boundaries and seeking support when needed
About the Candidate
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Current GMC registration
- Experience in chronic disease management, prevention, and screening
- Commitment to continuous professional development and mandatory training
- Understanding of clinical governance, confidentiality, and data protection
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to evidence-based practice, audit, and lifelong learning
Desirable (not essential):
- Specialist interest in women’s health and family planning
