It is important to note that this training is for Reception Staff that have successfully completed the EQUIP 2 Day CPD Accredited Care Navigation training course ONLY.

Non Clinical staff cannot triage, they are not medically trained, but they can assist in ensuring the patient is seen in an appropriate timeframe.

Receptionists are often the patient’s first contact and are the gatekeepers to the clinicians.  Changes in the way our receptionists are having to work, requires them to be skilled and have confidence in sensitively ascertaining the nature of the patient’s need and exploring with them, safe and appropriate options.  This includes recognising red flag symptoms which require urgent medical attention.  They play an important role in assigning patients to the most appropriate level of care at the right time.  This course is for reception and administration staff who have experience with care navigation/reception.
